iMovie - how to add/change photo in photo album theme

Dear iMovie Users!

I'm making a project - I'm about 1min in, have music, video footages, some titles and my intros. Now, I'd like to introduce a theme a the end of the introduction and I'd like to use the 'Photo Album' theme.

I'd also like a specific photo to appear on the coverm with the person's name at the top (I've figured out how to alter their name!) But - I just cannot get the album to display the photo I'd like.

I seem to be able to do it if I create a brand new photo album theme but not if I'd mid-way through my current project!

Any ideas? Or is what I'm trying to achieve impossible? I also don't want automatic transitions - I'd like to decided myself which ones are used.

I'm running iMovie '11 on a mid-2011 iMac 2.5ghz, 8GB RAM (I upgraded myself) and 21.5" screen.

I assume you mean the Photo Album Title Page.

First, make sure that the photo you want is in your project at the point where you want this title. Then drag and drop the Title on the photo. It should contain the photo you want.

Thanks for your reply! I had tried this - but I'll give it another go later! Yes, I mean the photo album title page - where iMovie does a slight zoom in to a leather-bound folder - and you can type something (the person's name) above the pic.

I'd managed to do this before - but after trying to introduce it mid-project, it doesn't seem to want to do it. When I load the title album, it offers me a choice of backgrounds - mainly colours, curtains, gradient etc - then puts that in the rectangualr section where the photo should be.

Does that help any further? Otherwise, I'll try what you said later. Should I also check the compatibility of the photos I'm using and make sure they're JPEGS?

Yes, it is important to drag and drop the photo onto the photo in the project. If you drop the title in between photos, you will have to choose a background.

Had to make duplicates of the pics I was using - I think they'd become corrupted somehow. Dropped the duplicates in, then dropped the photo album project on TOP of the pic I wanted to appear on the front cover, saw a little green '+' icon and clicked - HURRAH!!!
