Q: how to merge aperture and iphoto libraries

I heard the aperture and iphoto can now read off of one library how do I do that considering I have two separate libraries currently? After combining them I want to move them to an external drive so I can have a large library.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Apple has a article on this.

You might consider making your Originals Referenced rather than Managed (iow, relocate them to an external drive using Aperture's command).  This is the recommended way to reduce Aperture's footprint on your system drive.

Putting your Library on a fast external drive (FW400 or faster, FW800 or faster recommended) will also work well, but of course you can't open your Library unless your external drive is mounted.
