My remote does not work on my iMac/iSight G5 anymore.

I have been able to pair it in the past but it keeps getting unpaired. The remote works on other Macs so it doesn't appear to be the remote. What next?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

If you have not already, try resetting PRAM

followed by this procedure to reset SMU (power management)

When you connect it back to power, if it was connected through a "power strip" of some type, I would try connecting it directly to a wall outlet, by itself (at least initially). Don't have any other peripherals connected, particularly USB peripherals (I believe the IR sensor is on the USB bus internally), in case there is some odd device conflict. Power it up take way, and then connect only a standard mouse and keyboard. See if it there is any improvement.
