Q: Kid's ipod touch setup

Just got my 9 year old an ipod touch and want to know how to set it up. I want her to have the capability of talking on facetime, etc with couins but it says she is too young to have an apple ID. How would I set this up for her? I could set it up under my ID but how would it be seperated to allow her to use facetime?
