Jul 1, 2012 8:44 PM in response to JesNormalby Limnos,How did you do this backup?
Hold down the option key while starting iTunes. Direct it to the iTunes folder on your internal drive.

Jul 1, 2012 9:05 PM in response to Limnosby JesNormal,Rats. That did not work. I got this message when I tried playing a song "The song "___” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
(I just made a copy of my itunes folder on my external HD, did not move the original folder. - but it seems to be acting like I moved it)

Jul 1, 2012 9:16 PM in response to JesNormalby Limnos,You will see from the links below that itunes is very particular about the structure of your files and folders. Simply copying the itunes folder to an external drive will not in any way affect the continued functioning of the library on the internal drive. It really sounds to me like you either moved, or renamed items on your internal drive in the process of copying it. That will cause broken links.

Please do not go around asking me to answer your question on other people's topics. It is impolite to them and as I said, this isn't an interactive chat forum. When you get a reply you get a reply. Many of us do other things at home while helping here and it's part of what you have to accept with free help.

Jul 3, 2012 9:42 PM in response to Limnosby JesNormal,Thanks Limnos! I will check those links out. I bet I somehow messed up a link (hence why it links back to the External HD automatically but doesnt work otherwise)
Thanks again!
