Help. My export from timeline to reference movie are double fast video images. Audio ok. Please help.

What format are you working with ? can you post your sequence settings and clip settings.

I am working with .mov converted to prores shot on my my Canon Rebel T3i. The sequence I am using is XDCAM EX 1920x1080p24. This sequence has the prores files on it. My clip is Apple Prores 4444 23.98fps 1920x1080.
1st I tried using a sequence : H264 1920x1080 23.98fps.
Feel like I need to upgrade to Final Cut X. I am using Final Cut 7.0.3.

If I were you I would convert your clips to pro res LT and drop them into a Pro Res timeline, ( create a new sequence drop a Pro Res clip into it and click "yes" to the question "do you want to change sequence settings to match clip settings").
Do NOT edit with H264, this is a delivery codec and will give you problems.
