Jul 2, 2012 9:59 AM in response to birdgirl13by planb77,Is the TV Show configured to sync to your iPod Nano? Is this your problem? iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Jul 2, 2012 5:28 PM in response to planb77by birdgirl13,No, this isn't the problem. I get a message saying something to the effect that if I sync the TV show, it will erase all my music, etc. I bought the TV show episode through iTunes; I don't understand why it can't sync or copy the show to my iPod without erasing everything else that is on there.

Jul 2, 2012 8:42 PM in response to birdgirl13by planb77,Are you trying to sync the iPod with a different iTunes library from the one you originally set it up to sync with? Isn't all the content that is on your Nano still in your library? If so, you can go ahead and choose Erase and Sync. Then sync all of your content, including TV Shows, back over to the Nano.
If this is a new/different iTunes library, you'll have to make it your syncing computer first by choosing Erase and Sync or restoring the Nano. Before you do that, you'll want to copy everything on the Nano to your new iTunes library first so you don't lose anything.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Are you trying to the iPod with the same computer you have always synced it with since you first set it up?

Jul 5, 2012 9:57 AM in response to planb77by birdgirl13,Yes. I have another computer, but don't use it very often; I believe that was the computer I had originally used when I got my iPod, but I am using my "main" computer now for all my syncing, purchasing, etc.

Jul 5, 2012 11:45 AM in response to birdgirl13by planb77,That would explain why you are receiving the message about having to erase what is currently on the iPod before you can sync the new content over to it.
An iPod can only be synced with one computer/iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync it with a new/different iTunes library, iTunes will erase all content from the device and replace it with what is in the new/different library.

Jul 5, 2012 12:01 PM in response to planb77by birdgirl13,Okay, so if I am not using the older computer and haven't for years, am using only my "main computer" for syncing, etc., if I get the message about erasing all songs to be able to sync the show, do I go ahead and do it? The show isn't all that important ~ I can just have it to watch on my computer; I had just wanted to have it on my iPod.
Thank you for all your help ~ I really appreciate it.

Jul 5, 2012 2:06 PM in response to birdgirl13by planb77,Yes. The procedure will erase all the content currently located on the Nano, but will allow you to start syncing content from this main computer you now want to sync it with.
