Q: iPhoto update that will not fully install

I have an iPhoto update that will not fully install. The update will update 4 of 9, but gets stuck on 98% of the 5th. What is wrong? I can access iPhoto until it updates!! What do I do??

Hello:

 

Back up your library first!

 

If it is open, close iPhoto.  Open iPhoto while holding the command and option keys down.  This brings up a first aid dialogue. 

 

I would probably rebuild the database and repair permissions, although I cannot telll from here if anything is wrong with either on your system.

 

I would then download (again) the update, and apply it.

    I have never had a problem like yours, but several years ago I had a serious problem with my iPhoto library and rebuilding it saved me!  Now I back it up in at least three ways as the 9,000+ photos are irreplaceable.
