"RAW" and "movie" keywords no longer automatically added

After a recent iPhoto update -- I'm using version 9.3 (650.39) now -- I've noticed that both the RAW images and the movies that I import from my camera are no longer automattically tagged with the keywords "RAW" and "movie". In previous versions, after I imported a RAW file or a movie from my camera into the iPhoto library, it automatically added the appropriate keyword (I could see the keyword by clicking on the image or movie after the import and hitting the info button). Now, that automatic tagging seems to be gone, although both those keywords still exist, and my movies and RAW photos from before are still tagged. Has anybody else noticed this? Is there a workaround, or does Apple just need to fix this? Or was it discontinued on purpose?

This is the firat report I've seen and in my library it loos like new RAW are not tagged - at this time I can confirm it abut have no idea how to change it - there is no Preference for it

report to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback

Maybe someone will come up with a solution

Same issure here, but it seems to be wider than just RAW and Movie. I do a fair bit of panoramic photography, so I have the tag "stitched" as a keyword. When I try to apply that keyword to a photo, the field instantly clears, and the change is not saved. "Raw" and "movie" are showing the same behavior. A separate "nature" keyword works fine though. So, there looks to be a problem with the keyword database?

Upgraded to iPhoto 11 v9.3.1. Manual tags now showing up. However, all my recently added RAW files are still not tagged "raw".

I noticed major keyword issues when the iPhoto app is in full screen mode. When I press the esc key and get the app back to "normal" mode, the keyword functionality is fine. I already submitted a bug report to Apple. Weird, huh?

I got around the issue by creating a smart mailbox that looks for the raw extension. In my case it's NEF. The smart mailbox filter is Filename > Contains> NEF.

All your RAW files will be in one place.

I would like it fixed however for anyone that is listening...

iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback to tell Apple about it. The more that do the better the chance of it being addressed.

Does a Smart Album with

Photo -> is -> Raw

find them too?

Yes that works as well. There is also a Movie option in there so this appears to be more intentional than bug. Nice work finding that. That ability actually resolves the problem for me - i.e. putting all RAW files regardless of filename in a particular spot.

I had already done the feedback thing.

I haven't been able to find release notes on iPhoto (or any other app for that matter) - do you know where they are?

support.apple.com and check the downloads section for each individual update. How shall I put it - they don't spend a lot of time on Release notes, you'll find.
