Import into 9.3 can take a few hours... even more than 24h?

Hi,

recently I updated iPhoto to 9.3, after that it opened up telling me to upgrade my old iPhoto-database. All of the 9 steps were finished with 100%, the popup-window closed itself and now iPhoto is showing me a spinning wheel for over 24h now. In this forum someone wrote, that after the update process some other things have to be updated, too, and this could take up to an hour or two.

Some days ago i interrupted this process, and this resulted in a broken database, which iPhoto was unable to repair. Luckily, I had my latest backup at hands.

I am using a MacBook Air (2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo), 4GB RAM, 30GB free space on my hard drive.

Mac OS X Version 10.7.4

iPhoto Version 9.3

iPhoto-Library: 94 GB

Should I wait another 24 hours? Can I switch back to iPhoto 9.2.x?

Thanks in advance

Andreas

Apple Hotline helped me out of this.

Start iPhoto with ALT-CMD keys until a popup appears,

select "repair photo library",

wait until it is finished,

start iphoto (it will crash),

start iphoto again with ALT-key pressed until another popup appears,

select your iphoto library from the file dialogue,

upgrade process begins,

upgrade process will finish,

iphoto restarts and rebuilds the miniature pictures,

everything is fine now...

Good luck

Andreas
