What's the difference between iMessage and SMS text
I was sending SMS messages to a friend. And the bubbles where green
Now all of a sudden they've changed to blue with small writing saying
I message above and the bubbles have changed to blue

iMessage is free, regular SMS's/MMS's cost money. iMessage only works between iOS devices & Mac's running Lion with Messages Beta. iMessage requires a data connection, either WiFi or 3G.
See here, click on iMessage:
iMessage goes over Apple servers and does not count against your mobile carrier's data useage, while SMS goes over the cellular signal and does count against your monthly data count. iMessage can only be used between two iOS based mobile dvices. SMS text can be used between Any two mobile devices.
Hope this helps 🙂

Not ture.
Ok we both have iPhone4.....me on Roger's(I have a plan) and my daughter on Telus (pay as you go) unlimited texting.....when she is out and about on 3G and she text msg me....it is costing her money....and when she is at home she is on her WiFi and iMessege and it doesn't cost her anything.....why is that ??? if she has unlimited texting shouldn't it be free all around??
i am still confused..we both have iphone5..and are on same family plan..sometimes text is blue and other times green..i understand one is for imessage and other for sms but how can it be???stupid question but could one be a different phone with same number?
