webex screen sharing -unable to share screen

So i have been having issues with mac users who have the new mac book pro with the retina display, apparently the native screen size is too large for the web ex and logmein services to display. they are currently aware of the situation but there is no resolution date, is there any way to lower the resolution. we tried to have some peopel lower the settings but there is no resolution setting where the user can lower it to a much smaller size like 1024 x 768. the web ex app is usally ran through java.

I am planning on purchasing the new Macbook with Retina Display, however WebEx is a critical part of my software sales job and I was concerned that it would not be compatible with the new retina display. Sounds like I was right based on this conversation! Need to know if WebEx will fix any issues so that I can share my screen with other users from my Retina Display computer.....

If any one has heard anything from WebEx iwth regards to this issue... let me know! I won't buy the computer until I know this works.

Have you tested, and did this work for you? I use WebEx all the time to share my screen with other users across the world, and want to be sure it is compatible with the Retina Display before I purchase it. I emailed WebEx about this, and here is their reply (recommending third party software to download):

We understand that you would like to purchase a new Macbook Pro with Retina Display and would like to know if there would be any issue which would cause compatible issues with screen sharing with the participants.

Andy, we apologize that there may some resolution issues when you are using Macbook Pro with Retina Display since it is currently not fully supported.

However, for correcting the screen display, for now, please one of the following utilities to reduce the resolution (preferably to 1440x900) & change the scaling of the UI (try 1.0 or more):

SwitchResX (Free-Trial / Paid): SwitchResX is a third-party preference panel that allows you to run custom resolutions on any display. Install the preference panel, select the Retina Display, and add a custom resolution setting.

SetResX (Free): SetResX is a little menu-bar app that allows you to run different resolutions.

scrutil (Free): Slightly more advanced due to the nature of the command line.

Change Resolution App (User's add-on): Available on wineskin.urgesoftware.com, but the download link keeps moving (A search for the app may be required).

I tried SetResX and set screen resolution to 1440 x 900. That did the trick. I can't seem to get back to normal retina resolution without quitting SetResX and then going back into System Preferences (i.e., I can do it but I can't just leave SetResX running all the time). I talked to WebEX and they are aware of the issue and will hopefully have a fix or update at some point for us.

If there is a way to change resolution to 1440 x 900 in System Preferences without SetResX, please let me know. Or maybe I need to pay for SwitchResX instead of the free SetResX.
