Jul 2, 2012 3:13 PM in response to pippo007by Kappy,Two things:
- Have you mounted the computers? Do this using the Connect To Server option under the Finder's Go menu.
- Have you designated the volumes on each as Shared? Do this by selecting the Desktop disk icon. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Check the box labeled "Shared folder."

Jul 2, 2012 3:21 PM in response to Kappyby pippo007,Trying option 1 but not sure where to find server address of the macbook let's say, tried with the name that appers in system preference (file sharing) but not working. Says it is not able to find the server on network. d

Jul 2, 2012 3:33 PM in response to pippo007by Kappy,You will likely find it easier to click on the Browse button which should then give you the option to mount any "servers" found. Be sure to click on the button on the top right of the window. That should bring up a login dialog. Sign in as a regular user with the username and password for the admin account on the "server" computer.
Basically do the same thing on the other computer except that this computer becomes the "server."
EDIT:
I don't do this very often, and at my age I forget all the little details. Where I am now I don't have an sharing set up, so I can't work my way through it to better explain it to you.
If you select Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "file sharing" you should find some better help than my thus far feeble attempts.
