how to save download on iPad

While on a vendors website, I opened a file of their catalog and it loaded up to my iPad to view. How do I save that download on my iPad so I can view at anytime w/o having to download again or have wifi connection to view in the future? Can you do that w/o having to hook up to a desktop and download from iTunes? (I hope, I hope)!!!

Thanks for the help!!

If it's a PDF file, then, just tap it when it's rendered in Safari. Then, tap "Open In". From there, you can send it to any third-party app (including the above-remcommended iBooks).

For example, if you send it to GoodReader or iCab Mobile, you'll be able to (later) both send it forward to other PDF-capable apps and easily access the file from your desktop computer via iTunes File Sharing.

Thanks for the info. Will try the iReader trick first. I just checked the vendor's website and the download says: web/iPad for the file description they list. When it is loaded on my PC and I try to save it a message comes up "do you want to convert with Adobe to pdf" so I don't know what format that is in.

Thanks again.
