iPhone 4S and iHome iP42 alarm clock not working together

I recently purchased an iHome Colortunes iP42 dual FM alarm clock. It works just fine with my iTouch but when I try to dock my iPhone 4S it says it doen't support the device. Does anyone have any recommendations or do these alarm clocks not work the the newer iPhones?
