I recently purchased an iHome Colortunes iP42 dual FM alarm clock. It works just fine with my iTouch but when I try to dock my iPhone 4S it says it doen't support the device. Does anyone have any recommendations or do these alarm clocks not work the the newer iPhones?

The iP42 should work with an iPhone 4S. Try blowing out the contacts on the bottom of the iPhone making sure your mouth is dry, or using compressed air.
