Q: I upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and lost my iTunes library. How can I get everything back?

I upgraded my computer operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7. I apparently didn't save my files properly on my external hard drive because the files are not recognized by iTunes. My Ipad still has everything but nothing appears on my computer, how can I get back my iTunes library?

    The library is on your computer and hopefully your backup device.

    iDevices are not backup devices and do not contain the library, but instead copies of the media files that have been synced to the device.

     

    What errors are you getting when trying to launch iTunes?
    How did you migrate the data back to the drive after the OS upgrade?
