You canot deelte them from the SIM as iphone does not use the SIM for storage at all.  Nothing is stored there by iphone - no changes, nothing. Iphone does not store to SIM at all.

Thanks do if they ate not on the sim where ate that coming back from after I have deleted them one by one from my phone. I am not connected to I cloud I have it turned off. The 02 shop loaded all my contacts from my old Nokia onto the iPhone sim when I got the new iPhone. I assume these were then loaded onto my iPhone. It's a work phone and as I am leaving soon I want to delete all my personal numbers. I have tried twice by deleting them one by one from the iPhone but when I go to settings and press import sim contacts as a test they all come back into the phone ?

Why are you doing that? The iPhone cannot write any data to a sim card, nor can it delete any data already on a sim card. Stop doing that, or get a new sim card.

I am doing it because when I leave the company I will have to hand the phone back so if I can do it the next random person who has this phone will be able to do it and access my personal numbers. Where are the deleted numbers coming from? They must be on the sim. How do I get them off it

    Ah...from your Sim card.

Get a new sim card or take yours to one of your Carrier's stores & have them erase them.

Listen carefully:  no data is stored on the SIM.  How many times do you need to be told?  You can import data from a SIM, but that is all.

So thank you they are on the sim then and tone fox don't be so rude read the questions carefully. At least someone has established I need to get the numbers deleted from the sim externally
