My iPad suddenly will not email pictures--previously it was ok

My iPad

Suddenly stopped emailing pictures whereas it had worked properly. Any hints on what to do? Thanks.

Start with something very simple. Quit the mail app and the Photos app and restart the iPad.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the Home Button. Restart the iPad.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Try again and see if that helped.

This is really weird. Something you said about regular emails prompted me to go to the aol app. I used it briefly when I got the iPad but I was not comfortable with how it worked so I continued to use the regular aol emails. Based on your comments, I went to the app and tried to send something and it did not work. Reason--only recently aol prompted me to change my password which I did. Apparently, I needed to change the password on the iPad which I just did and all the emails I previously tried to send we're being saved and they all went at once. It works fine now and many thanks tomyounformtaking the time to help me. This is one very grateful low tech, old school, old guy.

The absence of the swoosh noise is not necessarily an indication that an email has not been sent. See Settings, General, Sounds.

I presume that emails without attachments are sending OK. Do emails with attachments other than photos go OK?

Had you had access to your laptop with which you normally sync then I would have been recommending deselecting photos in iTunes, doing a sync and then reselecting photos and doing another sync. Sometimes that clears up little hiccups! You can do it when you return home if the matter is not resolved by then.

Are you sending lots of photos to the same address?

Most email service providers regulate the attachment size in an email as well as total storage space on the email server. If the total storage space is exceeded the recipient must down load their emails to free some space. Generally a photo sharing site such as Flickr or Picasa or an online storage service such as DropBox is better for sharing high quality photos.

The Photo apps on iOS devices will also limit the amount of photos to 5 per message. If you select more than 5 in the Photo app then tap on the Share button the email and Message options will not appear.
