Aperture option not available

Since i updated Aperture to 3.1.1, I still have access to Aperture and my library with all of it's content and all of my picture. The software seems to be working fine.

The issue is when i use antoher software or application (Facebook, yahoo mail, etc..) and want to attach a picture, when I cllick on my picture icon, it no longer shows me Aperture as an option. I only see my old iPhoto library.

Any idea on how i can resolve this issue?

I tried a couple of the first aid kit and no changes. I also tried to remove the preference file but still no solution.

Thanks in advance

Marie

ps: also, i don't know why but since the last update, all of the left side of the inspector window (with the 3 tabs) are now in Black and White. They used to be in color. Is this new to this upgrade?

Check to see that Aperture is set to share previews. In preferences->Previews, "New projects automatically generated previews" should be checked. Then in the next setting, "Share Previews with iLife and iWork" should be set to "When quitting Aperture."

Then quit Aperture, and check again.

As far as the colors changing to greyscale, that's normal. Apple changed the look of the UI. Some folks don't like the change, but there's little you can practically do about it. There are a number of threads here if you want some light reading ;-)
