I've got Toslink to Toslinkk OD:2.2mm optical digital cable. Apparently, I need Mini-Toslink adapter to plug it in iPod Hi-Fi. However, I can't plug the other Toslink end of digital cable (it looks like a mini-light bulb of pocket flash light) into optical digital port of G5 either. It looks like it should fit but I can't get it in.
Do I need also Mini for the computer port or do I have a wrong connector and cable?
The optical cable for connecting between Power G5 and iPod HiFi, the plugs on both end are totally different. For G5 is normal toslink plug which we can easily buy in any audioshop, however the other end (plug with HiFi) is a bit different (with the shape similar with a minijack-the one we use to connect with iPod's earphone). I bought few years ago called "Airport Express" stereo connection kit with Monster cables - which includes the cable you need. A box costs very little something around US$40?
I was quite annoyed to find that my new NZD$70 monster cable connection kit would not connect my Airport Express to my iPod HiFi, making it a rather pointless (and potentially misleading) purchase.
An hour of chasing round town and locating a NZD$5 adapter did the trick.
