An unknown error occurred and my iPhone wont connect to iTunes.

I just got a new computer and installed the latest version of iTunes. My phone connected one time, but I wasnt able to sync it because of time. I have been trying to connect and sync my phone for days to no avail. I keep getting the error message "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred. (0xE8000012)"
