My iphone is fully charged, i went to text someone and the screen was black i tried to turn it on and it wont. i tried plugging it in to see if that would work and the screen stayed black indicating nothing.

I reset it. Hold down the power and Home buttons until the Apple logo is displayed, then let go. No data or setting will be harmed.
