Does iTunes support NTLM authentication?

Does iTunes support NTLM authentication? I am using windows 7 with iTunes 10.6.3. I have no problem accessing internet through proxy, but cannot access app store on iTunes. Suspect is NTLM issue.

Any version of iTunes support NTLM?

Thanks.

I too would like an answer. I have tried logging a support call several times by phone and by email and I am dismayed at the level of technical expertise and/or the inability to route such a question internally to developers; who would surely be able to answer the question? I’m on an Expresslane to nowhere. Even though I have no support contract, I would expect Apple to take an interest in what appears to be a feature shortfall; I guess they are all to busy raking in the money to care.

It appears that itunes successfully identifies Internet Explorer proxy settings but then doesn’t use the cached Windows NTLM/Kerberos login tokens to transparently authenticate with a proxy service, causing many proxy authentication popup’s and broken links within itunes. We have managed to overcome the problem to a degree by adding .mzstatic.com and .apple.com to Squid proxy ACL, which allows access to these domains without requiring proxy authentication, but itunes still continues to prompt for proxy authentication when accessing radio podcasts.
