iTunes 10.6.3 Will Not AirPlay With my ATV3rd Gen

I can't believe the amount of trouble I have out of my AppleTV and iTunes.

I have a very simple network set up. Multiple computers, 2 iMacs, 2 MacBook Pros, iPhone, iPad, HP Printer.

I have an Airport Extreme as a router.

I can push content up to my AppleTV from my iPad no problem. Audio and Video.

Since upgrading to iTunes 10.6.3 on each of my computers I am not able to send audio via AirPlay to my ATV.

All computers and all copies of iTunes "see" the ATV.

Both iMacs are hard wired to the Airport.

Both laptops are using WiFi.

The iPad can see and successfully send content to the ATV.

When I choose AppleTV from iTunes on any of the computers, iTunes just says "Connecting to AppleTV" and scrolls the barberpoll until it quietly gives up.

I am on the most current version of the ATV3 software.

Anyone?

Hi,

check the firewall settings on your laptop to insure that "iTunes" is set to "Allow incoming connections". As a quick test, disable the firewall on your laptop and give it a go.

I just tried completely resetting the ATV, no go. Still works great with iPad/Iphone, nothing with iTunes. Was fine before 10.6.3. Upgrade.

I tried everything I could to reset the apple tv, my airport extreme, my itunes settings. I turned off my firewall on the mac. but still no luck.

Have you tried turning Home Sharing "off" and then "on" again? Also turn off "Require password" in the sharing preferences in iTunes. Itunes->preferences->sharing: Untick "Require password". Then restart iTunes on your laptop.

Yes, I tried. btw, it is not that I couldn't browse my mac's shared itunes library from my apple TV, it's that I couldn't stream the content from itunes to my apple TV by clicking on the AirPlay button on the right bottom corner of the iTunes window.

Hi,

yes I understand that. I assume that your mac is "authorized"? You might also have a problem with IPV6 causing interferrence. Have a look here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3202188?start=0&tstart=0

to turn off IPV6.

So far nothing has worked for me either.

My ATV can see and stream content from my Macs, but my Macs cannot send any content of any kind to the ATV. When I chooe Apple TV I get a box that says connecting to AppleTV. It tries and tries and never connects.

Connect your mac directly to the aTV via an ethernet cable thus bypassing the wifi/router setup and see if you can stream.

Did you turn off IPV6?

Marvin, did you ever figure out a solution? I just discovered I have the same problem. Everything is working fine except music TO the ATV FROM my mac. My other airplay speaker is working fine, and I can send video from the Mac to the ATV, but not music.
