wi-fi on powerbook G3

Is that possible to use some external device to allow powerbook G3 to connect to a wi-fi network?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

It might depend on which specific model of PowerBook G3 you have. I have a PowerBook G3 FireWire (Pismo) and it can use regular wifi cards (the same ones PCs use) that plug into the slot in the left side of the PowerBook. For a card to work, it either needs to be compatible with Apple AirPort, or it will need a Mac software driver. Try the options at macwireless.com.

Non-Apple wifi cards only work in the PC card slot in the left side of the PowerBook. The only wifi card that will work for the AirPort slot inside the PowerBook is the Apple AirPort card (the original card, not the Airport Extreme card). The original Apple AirPort card is very hard to find now.

It may also be possible to use a USB wifi solution, like the ones sold by Quickertek.
