Pop Ups (?) driving me crazy

In all of my programs, including use on the internet, I get these Mac "pop ups" ... they are not ads but small boxes .... presenting me choices in a vertical list, such as Open, Open with, Spell check, etc. Or Open Link in New Tab, New Window, etc. Look up in Dictionary.

The choices, or options, are tailored to the program in which I have opened.

I call this a 'pop up' ... in so far as it simply "pops up" without my prompting. It is not an add but somehow is programed into my settings, I presume.

These are from Mac I preseume. These come up and I have to click on this or that option before I can proceed. It is a real bother.

It only started a few days ago but I want to remove this automatic feature. It even comes up on my Aperture photo program.

Can anyone advise me how to remove this annoying feature. Thanks greatly.

Those are contextual menus. You're right-clicking or control-clicking when you should be left-clicking. Check your mouse or trackpad settings.
