Q: Extending a network with extreme and express

I'm trying to extend my network with a base station, airport extreme (2nd gen) and a new airport express. For some reason, the airport utility does not recognize the airport express. I moved the express close to the extreme and it still does not recognize it. So, I can't set up the extended network. Any thoughts? Thanks.

To facilitate the setup of the extended network, I would suggest that you try at least two things:
Perform a "factory default" reset on each base station, and
Temporarily connect the AirPort Express to one of the available LAN ports of the Extreme using an Ethernet cable.
Then check out the following Apple Support article for details on setting up an extended network to be sure you didn't miss anything.
