Siri completely ignoring any and all phonetic names

I have some friends with unusual names. When I tell Siri to call one of them siri consistently returns what it thinks the name is. So i took what Siri returns and added it as the phonetic name of the individual. Siri still returns the same name and still doesn't recognize the contact. Example: I say Damian, Siri thinks it's Damien so I add Damien as the phonetic name of Damian. After i did that I say Damian, Siri says it can't find Damien!!! ***!!!! What is the point of having phonetic spelling if that's the case. Am I doing something wrong?

I think they got rid of phonetic first and last names.

No. Still there.

Trying to set one now for myself and the option is not there in add field.

No. Still there.

I'm guessing there gone for you too

Why are you guessing this? Taan wrote, "so I add Damien as the phonetic name of Damian"

If he added a name to the phonetic spelling field, it is still there.
