Jul 5, 2012 3:45 AM in response to cdoyleby noondaywitch,★HelpfulIt may underclock, or it may simply not boot. If it does boot you may find problems with freezing etc. It's too much of a lottery.
If Corsair don't stock the right RAM, go to Crucial or OWC.

Jul 5, 2012 3:51 AM in response to cdoyleby Ralph Landry1,★HelpfulAs the others have said, this is a really chancey thing to do...there have been several users on here during the past few weeks with questions about using out-of-spec ram...most had trouble with it. Macs will sometimes accept higher spec memory, sometimes they will not. Corsair has been getting some very good comments lately but that is from those using in-spec memory.
Best solution is the correct memory. And as noonday recommended, Crucial and OWC are very good and stock the correct ram.
