how to delete history from messages

    HI,

     

    You can clear the Chat of the current information via th View Menu

     

    However in the case of iMessages from iPads and Phones and other people using Messages beta you have probably found that the "History" come back.

     

    At present there is only one way to "delete' this info.

    You need to be in the Finder

    Use the Go Menu

    Hold down the ALT key

    Select Library (now that it shows up)

    Find the Messages folder and open it

    Delete (Drag to Trash) the chat.db item.

     

    It will be gone forever.  It will not be recoverable.

     

     

     

    Restart Messages
