Siri for iPad 2 in iOS 6

Why can't apple get Siri to iPad 2 ,seriously come on it has a A5chip and it is quiet powerful if an iPhone 4s can have it ,which still has a A5 chip?and in ios 6 they give the new iPad Siri and not iPad 2. I'm seriously I'm so disappointed with apple.i hope in future it comes or why not just in ios 6.0.

Deggie:

Siri used to work in the iPhone and iPad. It was an app downloadable from the iTunes app store until Apple purchased it from the a 3rd party and removed it from the iTunes store in early 2010. They didn't design Siri they bought it from SRI International. After incorporating Siri into the iOS iPhone 4s were blocked from using software that was previously availible to them.

I answered your question about where to find technical information / product design on apple products. Pay attention.

Yes, I'm quite familar with Apple buying Siri and then using Audience chipset technology, which they apparently have switched from in the iPhone 5 causing a precipitous drop in the stock price of Audience.

If you've read all the posts in this thread you would know that I'm aware of that since I already posted that fact here. But do you really think Apple did not make any changes to the Siri software after they purchased it? And that they didn't couple it with the noise reductions/voice recognition technology they were using?

It doesn't take much of a search for either teardowns of the iPhone 4s and the iPad 2 to find out there is a difference in the chipsets. Or to find out about Audience. And the iPhone 4s with the A5 CPU was released 6 months after the iPad 2 with the same number but with unpublished differences. Do a little exploring.

But Chris is right, none of this matters. It won't be available on the iPad 2 for whatever reason.

You should sell your iPad since it does not do what you expect it to.

I didn't buy it with an expectation of Siri. It was partly a gift anyway. So no I won't be selling it to you. Also I buy Apple product because I think they are still the best on the market. I prefer keeping my head clean though so I don't stick up Apples ..... like all their blind devoted fans....

#learns-to-take-criticism-about-apple

I am pretty sure that we can all take criticism of Apple. I am sure that we all have our personal criticisms of Apple. However, that isn't the purpose of this forum, to criticize Apple, it's a user to user tech support forum. And we all agreed when we opened out accounts here not to criticize Apple and its business and product decisions. If you just have to do that, you need to go find an Apple Hate forum.

The Siri beta that is an Apple product, is very different from the little app that was available from the original developers. And as Deggie states, Siri by Apple was part of iOS devices that came with Audience technology, which Apple appears to have now replaced with its own technology on the new iPhone, which has 3 mics now, plus the onboard electronics and software to accomplish it. I have an iPad 2 and it doesn't have either technology built into it. I had to buy a plug in mic, just to get it to do decent dictation and FaceTime calls.
