Skazni,
I share your senitment, yes they Apple are very slow compared to other companies but I can guarentee you that Apple will blow you away with the next level application of Logic.
I still use Logic 8 and I saw no reason to upgrade to Logic 9 so believe me when I say I am eagerly awaiting the new Logic, and I have been using Logic since 1998.
I also use Protools, and anyone who is user of both Tools & Logic can tell you that both have their pro's and cons, this is not a debate, it's fact. Logic excels in music programing, arrangement & compostion where ad Protools out performs in it's audio editing, recording and UI. Oen needs to be a long time user of both to understand where the on out does the other, to just use one and say Logic is the best is a joke.
If I cast your memory back to around 08/09 when Digidesign (now Avid) brought out PT8 it was a revolution for Pro Tools users, all of a sudden it was giving Logic a run for it's money, as earlier versions of Protools was (to put it bluntly) **** house in it's music creation, terrible midi, terrible UI for music arrangment, Messy operation and terrible window planning along with nightmare soft synth interaction not to mention hardly any built in synths. HOWEVER, when PT8 was released only the duo users (of PT & Logic) would recognise that Digidesign had stolen nearly all LOGICS music creation genius wiping the floor with the current verion of logic at the time. And any long term logic users reading this will know that Logi 9 was a poor attempt to counteract PT8, however I did not think that was their intention.
So around 2009ish we had Protools the best audio editing SW available who had now stolen all of Logics music making (in laymans terms) ideas, leaving Logic to merely rot with pie on it's face. Needless to say Logic is still spectacularly powerfull in it's own right and is still my choice of daw for music creation. However we did see Apple drop it's prices to a vulgar and pathetic $200 to draw the consumer back in. Seriously as a long term user who has paid shy of $2000 (two thousand dollars in the past I was not impressed, however it's not about me) for Logic, I was a little scared for the future of the App.
So here I am in 2012 still waiting for Apple to release the new Logic and I suspect this will blow any other daw out of the water with both Music Creation UI and NEW LEVEL AUDIO EDITING that will surpass Pro Tools in every way possible.
Apple, please wrap it up soon, we are tired of waiting. We love you.
PS: dont screw it up like you did FCPX.
PPS: I dont proof read, excuse typos and any other errorz's'z/.
