I can download software updates, but when it comes to installing them, it does not.
prompt comes up do not shut off computer, this may take a while? Does not install.

You posted this in the OSX 10.6.8 forum but your computer profile says you are runnng 10.7. Which is it?
Which updates? Apple system updates? Which specific ones?
