im trying to print from my i pad and i cant seem to to be able to do the steps
can someone help me set up ipad to print on my wireless printer?

Without a bit more information I don't think that anybody can help you.
Did you read the printer instructions? Is the printer AirPrint compatible? If not, do you have a third party printing App?
Really, more information is needed.
