How do I fix my Yahoo domain/iWeb site?

How can I fix my website? I created my website with iWeb and a Yahoo Domain in 2010. With the end of Mobile Me, the site doesn't work. Geniuses at Apple store told me last month it would still work.I knew Mobile Me was disappearing, but expected to retain my website. The sign says, "Mobile Me is Closed." Is it possible to correct this? Thank you for any help you can give me.

iWeb '08, iOS 5.1.1

You must obtain a new web host and publish your website to it. Then go to your domain name provider and redirect the domain name to the new location for your website.

Some hosts like HostExcellence.com, can transfer the domain to themselves and provide you with both hosting and domain name. This tutorial explains why I went with HE: iW16 - Using HostExcellence.com with iWeb. More info can be had here:Life After MobileMe.

You have a couple of options for publishing your website....

Although you could host your site with Yahoo I would advise against since there service is terrible and tech support is a joke. Here's some pointers for choosing hosting...

Once you have uploaded your files to the new host, you need to point your domain name at the new location. In theory you could get Yahoo to help you and good luck with that. A better option would be to move your domain name registration to your new host as most of them give you a free one anyway.

You will need to get yourself a 3rd party web host. And, if you are still using iWeb '08 you will need to publish your website to a folder then upload it to the new Host with an FTP program like CyberDuck.

I have been using IX Webhosting for several years with little to no problems "usually the problem was something I did" and they have been quick to solve any issue I have come across. The have plans that start at $3.95 a mo (USD) and their customer service is top notch.

iWeb has two other ways to publish a site...

You need to sign up for new hosting...

... and redirect your Domain name.

The MobileMe only features can be replaced by alternatives...

Once you have uploaded the files to the new server you should also attend to the SEO...

This workflow may interest you if you are new to publishing via FTP...
