Apparently FileVault 1 and 2 can be easily broken into with a piece of code called VileFault.

"VileFault" is a tool for brute-force cracking of encrypted disk images. Any kind of encryption can be attacked that way. The attack fails if you choose a strong password. FileVault 2 in Lion doesn't rely on disk images at all.

It says that it works for FileVault 2 also:
"It supports both version 1 and 2 of the non-documented proprietary format."
I thought it's not attacking the password, but the encryption key?
Versions 1 and 2 of the encrypted disk image format. It does not attack the AES-128 key directly; that would be absurd. Please do some research.

VileFault seems to work only with FileVault 1, and not 2.
Not anymore. The current VileFault can now decrypt FileVault v1 and v2 volumes.
FileVault 2 can be broken easily with VileFault?
