Wet Iphone 4 now battery won't take a charge.

Like an idiot my iphone 4 got fully sumereged. I put it in rice over night, then took it apart, took out the battery and sim card, and let it dry out in the oven at a low temperature. I put everything back together and it works great, BUT, the battery will not charge. It has been plugged into the wall for an hour and still shows it's almost empty, and has been turning on and off. The warranty is over so I'm not worred about that, but what can I do now? Can I buy a new battery? Will it get better with time? I'm up for a new phone but the 5 is supposed to come out in October and I MUST HAVE IT. What can I do in the meantime??

Once something is water damaged anything can

be dead and never recover. There are some

non-Apple authorized shops that do repairs but

doubt if you can get just a battery. Do a Google

search.

As far as getting parts from Apple, that is a no go.

Had you not taken the phone apart, you could have

gotten an Out-Of-Warranty exchange, but since you

did that is no longer an option.
