My ipadbhas no sound, all mutes are off.  The slider on the task bar has no dial ( nothing to slide). Any suggestions please?

    Try restarting your iPad ( hold the lock button and the home button simultaniously). If this does not work, try restoreing it. Lastly, bring it to apple. Good luck!

    Thanks but that did not work, I think the connector is damaged, thinks for for your help though...

    I had this happen a couple days ago. Though in my case it was resolved by simply removing and then reinserting the headphone jack.

    Same issue here!  So very annoying!!  It will reappear if I plug it back into the jack, remove it, then plug it in again.  But will eventually go silent again and lose its sliders.  Would be nice if I didn't have to repeatedly violate my iPad when it will no longer play music for me.

    I've had this issue.  After countless messing around with resets, software, and so on... I read a post and I tried it.  The post spoke about someone using there 30 pin to dvi output plug in.  I went and plugged it in, and BAM slider bar reappeared. There has to be something with the hardware ( pin connector).  Working fine so far.  Pain in the.... Well, you know.  Hope this helps!

    I should bill tec support for the 4 hours of wasted frustration.  Glad I am not using this solely in business.  I would be one p.o.e.d customer!
