Cannot load 2 Gmail accounts at the same time in Safari (multiple sign-in)

This never used to be a problem before the latest Safari update:

When I try to open a window of the other Gmail account that I am logged into (multiple sign in), it always freezes close to the end of loading it. Really annoying. All the more reasons to use Chrome.

No browser I know can open two seperate gmail accounts at the same time. I used to open one account in IE and the other in Chrome when I was using Windows OS. This is due to gmail's security settings.

If you can access two accounts on the same computer but not with the same browser it is almost certainly caused by Google cookies (or equivalent) stored by the browser. To overcome this you would need a browser with two user identities which would probably be too difficult for the average user to set up.

I can see no reason for people accessing email with a browser, rather than a proper mail client, on their own computer.

I suggest you use the Mail app in checking your email. Its really easy to set up and you need not log in and out the way you do on a browser.

Why are you replying if you don't know? Do you even use Gmail?

I clearly said: "This never used to be a problem before the latest Safari update", i.e., it worked before. I have been doing it for years. It stopped working after the latest Safari update.

A simple Google search would reveal that it is possible in Gmail: http://gmailblog.blogspot.co.uk/2010/08/access-two-gmail-accounts-at-once-in.htm l

I do not want to use Mail app for Gmail, as Gmail's web client is superior.

You also don't seem to know about the multiple sign in Gmail function.

Good for you if you don't see a reason for using the web client. But as I clearly stated this is something that I do. I wasn't asking for your opinion on why Mail is better than Gmail.

Very interesting Google link. Have you asked Google why you are having problems with the latest Safari? If it affects other Safari users I am sure they will know about it and be able to explain the issues to you.

I did not advocate Mail. My remark was about email clients in general. You could, for example, use your Gmail account with Thunderbird.
