Border color of active cell in excel

Is there a wayof changing the color of the border of the active cell in excecl?

I have a very difficult time seeing the pale green.

I waste a fair amount of time modifying formulae because I'm in the wrong cell.

Making it a different color or making it more vivid, or bold, would be great.

Tried going into Apple preferences and Excel preferences, but did not have any luck. Maybe I just didn't do the right thing once there.

Thanks so much. Appreciate any help you can give me.

When one types 'active cell' into their search feature, one gets the answer 'Go to System Preferences....change the highlight color'.

This does not work.

The border color of the active cell stayed pale green (I tried to set it to magenta).

When one changes the highlight color in the System Preferences<General area, it changes the highlight color for text only, not for excel cells.

Here's the step I think I was missing.

One needs to Quit Excel on the dock, not just close the spreadsheet.

Then this will work.

Thanks, baltwo!
