Files disappeared while copying

Half of the files copied and remained on source, half never made it and disappeared.

The names must have gotten changed in the process because a search does not find them.

I found the Photoshop Bridge previews for them. But they don't show up in Bridge. Something must have gotten corrupted in the process but I can't even locate them files.

Thanks, but I only installed MacKeeper after losing the files, and have done the Malware check.

Nice search software but still did not reveal the missing files.

Used various searches : name, time, size, kind, etc, etc. but no files fit.

Search does reveal the Adobe Bridge thumbnail files but the originals don't show up in any form.

That's for sure! but I've tried all sorts of searches multiple times and the files don't show up.

No files of any type during the relevant time period that are the lost files.

They were.jpg. No jpeg files except for the Bridge previews.

I agree, the file dates would not change, which is why that would get ALL file types within the time period.

The names have obviously changed but no files of any type show up that could be the originals, visible or invisible.

Thanks everyone for the effort. After trying everything myself and confering with 2 computer stores, the Apple store, and tech and computer science folks at the local University, still no good answers. The files are still there (somewhere) but the information to find them is gone, Short of an expensive recovery of the file info (which does not seem to be a sure thing) no one has an answer. Thanks again and good luck. At least I have the low res Bridge thumbnails for web use. Cheers.
