PowerPC applications not supported

I have a few games that I have been trying to download onto my Mac, but I keep receiving an error message stating "You can't open the application because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". I am new to Mac, so I'm not very saavy with the system. I have a MacBook Pro, with an Intel i5 Processor, and OS X Lion software. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

PPC applications used the old "Classic" or "Rosetta" modes. That would put their age at about 6-7 years old. You just need to check and make sure theyre "Intel" mac friendly first. And since you're new to Macs, another thing: any file ending with .exe is a Windowz file and will not open on a Mac.

Here's some good reading for you. I hope it will help in your transition:
