Why don't I see reply arrow in Mail when using phone with Gmail account

Hello,

I am using an iPhone and Mac laptop, with Apple Mail and a branded email address that I set up up to run through Google's email servers. When I receive an incoming email on my computer and reply to it from my computer (within Mac Mail), I see the little reply swirly icon to the left of the message, which is indicates that I have replied and is also hyperlinked to a new window, which when clicked shows the actual reply that I sent (see attached screenshot).

However, when I receives and reply to an email *from my phone*, and then go to Mac Mail program later on my laptop, no such reply arrow icon appears next to the particular email message. Thus, I am not sure/can't remember if I replied or not. I can look in my SENT folder to check to see if I replied or not, but I really shouldn't have to take this extra step. The arrow icon should show up 😉 Anyone know of a fix?

Hi Tom,

No luck yet; I didn't get any responses at all to my post; And I have given up trying to solve this on my own. I am surprised that this particular bug doesn't bother more people!

Are you on an iPhone or Android? I am using Android. But, my friend is using an iPhone and she has the same problem.

Hi Julie,

thanks for coming back to me. Shame no response from anyone else to help with this. A search brings up nothing either. It's strangely inconsistent as I replied to two emails yesterday on my iPhone and one has an arrow and the other doesn't.

I have noticed more glitches in Apple software recently than ever before - may it's the post-Steve Jobs perfectionist effect!

Possibly the reason you got no replies is the fact you're asking about a Google Gmail account on the Apple iCloud forums. There's absolutely no connection between the two.

Have you tried asking in the forums for Gmail over on Googles website?
