2012 Macbook Pro 15" freezing?

Got my new 15" MacBook Pro yesterday afternoon and it has been freezing quite frequently. It's occured during StarCraft 2 installation, loading, Netflix instant, YouTube and streaming. I heard overworking the GPU could be the problem, but I find it ridiculous that such an expensive laptop can't seem to function where my 2009 MacBook has no problems.

Are there any known fixes for this problem? Should I just contact Apple and try to switch out the computer? Suggestions? Comments? Cries of indignation?
