what is to be done for two lung like white patches appearing on the screen of imac 2011
iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
Pull the glass off the display (suction cups) and clean the smoke from the inside of the glass.
how do i pull the glass off the display....will it not void the hardware warranty...will try the yanking if simple. Pl reply
I don't know about the warranty.
The fans that cool the machines pull in air from a vent on the back of the display. If there's smoke in the room it will build up on the inside of the glass.
Two 3 inch suction cups are strong enough to break the magnetic seal.
Power off the machine and rest it flat on it back. Apply the suction cups and pull up to remove the glass. Do not touch anything under the glass while cleaning it.
