When setting up my airport express I select the "join existing network" as I just want to add it as a client to stream music to my hifi. I want to be an,e to operate it without connection by a Ethernet cable.
I try setting it up from my iPad 3 airport utility, but it returns an unexpected error message.
What settings should I check on the router, what needs to be I place for this to. Work. ?

Yes, I have the WPA/WPA2 settings confirmed. I gave up on using the iPad to configure it and connected the AE to my laptop via eternet and was able to configure it to connect wirelessly to my network.
