I have Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop and Airplay works fine to stream to my Yahama receiver either wired or wireless. My iPad works fine with it as well. I'm trying to get iTunes working on my desktop PC and move all of my music to the much larger and more permanent HD, but I do not have the Airplay icon in iTunes. The desktop PC is running Win7 Pro, that's the only thing that I can see that's different. I don't have Verizon FiOS and I don't have the UGMP setting in my router. I have turned on Home Sharing on all of my devices and had the laptop up and streaming in a few clicks. I've been beating my head against the wall with my desktop PC. Any ideas out there?
My Denon 2312 had mysteriously stopped showing up as an Airplay destination on my PC and iPad etc. It was still on the network (I could ping it and control it from its network interface via a web browser). I had to switch between DHCP and fixed IP on the 2312ci to get it to show up but it disappeared after a few hours.
I did a microprocessor and network reset on the 2312ci and that seems to have fixed it.
By the way, http://www.avsforum.com/t/1334369/the-official-denon-avr-xx12-model-owners-threa d is an excellent resource for Denon owners, especially the first few posts in the thread.
I have no suggestion except to uninstall iTunes on the PC and re-install it. Also, re-install Bonjour on the PC.
Check out avsforum for the thread on your receiver. Lots of knowledgeable folks there.
I have a Denon AVR-1913 and a Linksys WRT601N wireless router behind an AT&T modem. I experienced the issue of the disappearing airplay on my iPhone 5, my iPad, and my PC. I found this post, made this simple change to my Linksys router in the settings and it worked instantly on my PC. My iPhone required a power cycle before it worked.

I was able to finally figure out the issue. For all those having trouble with AirPlay, check your router settings. I have a Linksys WRT610N, where I had to adjust the Internet filter settings. I have to "check mark" the filter multicast option under the security tab of the router settings. This immediately solved my issue and I am now enjoying the AirPlay feature. I hope this helps anyone having the same troubles.
I have got the same promblem here
1 PC (wired), NAS(wired), iPad(wireless), AirPlay(Wirless)
Everything works when I use Linksys E1000 router. When change to Linksys EA2700, airplay disappear happened.
1. iPad always reads AirPlay
2. PC and NAS can read AirPlay for a short period of time after router or AirPlay reboot.
Having discuss with Linksys support, I make some changes for my router and it probably works recently.
My router setting:
Wireless Mode(2.4Ghz): Mixed, No security, 20Mhz, Channel 9
Media prioritization Enable, WMM disable, checked Filter Multicast in Firewall
Hope it can help.
I have had a Denon 1913 AVR for more than a year. I have NEVER been able to see the device in the Airplay menu on my iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad 3 or iPad Air. I spent anouther couple hours tweaking settings on the AVR and the router; sitll nothing. The AVR is connected to my network as Pandora will run from the Network menu.
I have a Cisco EA3500 router.
The AVR is connected to the network with a wireless bridge.
I verified all the settings in the post above mine, and still no Denon device shows up on any Apple device or iTunes on my PC.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
I had a Linksys WRT54GL which I have changed to Linksys WRT120N as thougt the old one (WRT54GL) maybe is too old to support Airplay, as Airplay "icon" from iPad and iPhone regularly disappered. It did not give me result what I expected. Now I found that I can log in into router and just re-save settings and after that Airplay works well for time while iPad is active and plays music. Yes, receiver is Pioneer VSX-527.
Some very knowledeable and helpful folks ara vailable there.
Off hand, try setting fixed IP address for the Denon, try to see if you can ping it from your PC/Mac, see if you get the Airplay feature to work in iTunes on your PC/Mac first.
Thanks for the hint.
This week, I replaced a 5th generation Airport Extreme with a 6th generation Airport Extreme. I have a Denon AVR-E400 receiver wired through a switch to an AT&T U-Verse gateway. After the replacement, I attempted to stream from an iPhone to the Denon, but the Denon didn't appear as an Airplay destination. It turns out that the 6th generation Airport Extreme has an "IGMP Snooping" option. By default, that option is not set. I turned it on, and Airplay is working again! Thanks.
I'm hoping someone on this thread can help.
I have a apple time capsule with a motorola modem using cox. I have two receivers a Denon 1913 and a Pioneer SC-65. I can not air play to either receivers on my network. I have tried selected the "IGMP Snooping" option. But to no avail. I can control both receivers with my iPhone app, so I know there is a good wired network connection. I have tried Apple and both Denon and Pioneer... no one seems to have a "if your trying to airplay with this router" here is what you do. Since neither receiver will show up in my menu of airplay options I believe it is a time capsule issue. I have the most recent time capsule with the current firmware installed on all devices.
