nano 3rd generation died

it worked fine on the way to work but when i went to use it on the way home it was dead. i tried to reset but nothing. when i plug it into my pc it is fine. even states it is charging. tried to let it charge for awhile but when i unplugged it from the computer it was dead. hooked back up, checked that i had the most recent software and itunes, then reset and reloaded music. unplugged it from the computer and nothing. theres no low battery message or grey apple just nothing. anyone have an idea whats wrong and maybe some suggestions on how to fix it? thanks!!!
