MacBook Pro slow shutdown
I've been having slow shut downs on my MacBook Pro for a couple of years now, have just upgraded to the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display and still have slow shut down issues. It's not too major, but can take about 15 seconds to shut down.
Years ago I have a 13 Inch White MacBook and shutdown on that was pretty much instant, a second if that, even after 3 and a half years use and an almost full hard drive. I upgraded in 2010 to a 15 Inch MacBook Pro and thats when it all started, took around 15 seconds to shut down. I always use Migration Assistant when setting up my new Mac's and again did the same a few weeks ago when upgrading to my latest MBPr. My sister has recently had a MacBook Air and this shuts down instantly, so was wondering if there may be something causing my slow shut downs?
It may not be the end of the world but from having pretty much instant shut downs on all my previous Mac's going back 12 years to all of a sudden a couple of years ago having extended shut down times on the latest machine it seems a bit strange. I read somewhere about using Disk Utility to repair permissions which I've done but that hasn't changed anything. Anything else I can try?
