Q: can i use non apple to extend network

I have an AirPort Extreme 4th gen as the base station.  Can I use non-apple to extend the network?  My base is on my 2nd floor and the wifi signal on the ground floor is a little weak.

Thanks

Extremely unlikely that a device from another manufacturer could extend your AirPort Extreme wireless signal using wireless only.

Should be OK if you connect the device back to the AirPort Extreme using a wired Ethernet connection.
